Whee!!!! The Fair is on, and....

I won!! Blue ribbon, Best of Class, and BEST OF SHOW for the sewing thread daffodil filet crochet panel, and.....

blue ribbon and Best of Class for Emma's handspun gansey, and.....

blue ribbon, Best of Class, and the special Mary Fox Award for Handspun Yarn for my laceweight tussah silk two-ply!!!!!!

(Mary Fox was a local handspinner/knitter/weaver/shepherd who was very active in the San Juan County Textile Guild, and had this award named after her when she passed away several years ago. I never knew her, but have seen some of the yarn she made, and have spun wool from the decendents of her flock of sheep.)

So exciting!!! More later!!! I need to stop using exclamation marks!!!

Oh congratulations to you! I was SO excited seeing your work with those wonderful deserved ribbons! I don't know why I didn't see the blogline updates, but your cabin, view, animals watching is GLORIOUS!!!! and the spin on that porch....you are lucky indeed!..and without water and elec. just brings you back to nature..and the movement of light. How fun!

Very nice: congrats! I was just at our local fair yesterday, thinking what a wonderful opportunity it is to share (and celebrate) beautiful work that might otherwise stay at home and not be seen much.

Such a cool idea, fairs... a link to history, too. This year was our local fair's 116th annual. Will you have to find a new fair when you move??

Congratulations on all the ribbons!
Everything looks splendid, your handwork is lovely, and the awards are well deserved. I was so glad to see the daffodil filet crochet panel win BOS..it really is so beautiful, and a stellar example of fine work!
