Question for the weavers:

What's a good plain wool or wool/alpaca blend yarn, not too expensive, suitable for a stole/shawl, that can be warped for twill, or possibly huck lace, at 8-10 epi?

Many thanks. Carry on.

Henry's Attic natural colored alpaca yarn. Yarn Barn of Kansas carries it at: http://www.yarnbarn-ks.com/products.asp?dept=327

here

Sett of about EPI should be about right. However, alpaca fringe is an iffy kind of thing in my experience.

For boughten yarns I always go with KnitPicks. Their prices can't be beat and they do have both types of yarns you mention. I like a sett of 8 epi with worsted weight knitting yarns, and have woven twills with that.
